Flexible heaters are used for transferring heat to an object of almost any shape or configuration. These heaters may be constructed of one of the following materials, silicone rubber, kaplon, neoprene or mica insulated high temperature foil. Flexible heating elements may be etched foil or wire wound depending on the temperature requirements. Due to the flat shape of the heater, it may be manufactured in such a way to allow for the absence of heat in specified areas, allowing for holes where other objects may be attached to the primary object be heated. The flexible heaters may be attached or bonded to the heated object with high temperature silicone adhesive or silicone contact cement. An optional attached thermostat, either preset or adjustable is available. Applications for the flexible heater, include freeze protection, control panel condensation, melting wax, temperature stabilization in test situations.
